Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) Edward Byrne Memorial

In April of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department recently secured nearly $60K grant from the New York State Law Enforcement Technology Grant. This money will go towards paying off equipment lease contracts, upgrading outdated computers and radio equipment along with purchasing of new equipment to better secure and protect the officers and the residents within the community of North Hornell.

In February of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department received funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of almost $14K to support the purchasing and upgrading of radio equipment for the department and School Resource Officer.

Recently in June of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department received funding for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of almost $55K to purchase a new fully outfitted marked patrol vehicle in the Village of North Hornell to replace the school resource officer vehicle that is almost 20 years old.

The Village of North Hornell and the North Hornell Police Department are thankful for these grant funds and will continue to search and execute grant opportunities to assist with taxpayer savings.
