The North Hornell Police Department and the Village of North Hornell would like to remind our residents that riding any sort of ATV or UTV on Village Streets is NOT permitted at any time.
Please be aware of the rules and regulations and permitted areas when riding an ATV or UTV.

Building Permits are a requirement for many home projects. Please contact village hall if you are unsure if you need one. You can find the forms on the Code Enforcement page or go to the Forms page. There is a FEE ($) for starting work without a Building Permit!!CONTRACTOR INFORMATIONList of contractors who are licensed to work in the Village contractors that were licensed in 2023 are still valid to work in the village until February 1, 2024 without penalty. $10.00 for this license can be paid at Village Hall.A $50.00 Fee will be assessed to any contractor beginning work in the Village of North Hornell without a paid license and updated Insurances.

Pursuant to General Municipal Law #30, the Village of North Hornell has filed with the State Comptroller the Annual Financial Statement for fiscal year ending May 31, 2018., and is available in the Clerk's office during regular business hours.
Owners and occupants of land in the village are responsible to cut any and all noxious weeds, grass which is in excess of six (6) inches and/or other rank gowth located on their property. Code 27-1
Failure to follow the said code can/will result in action taken by the village and could result in penalties to the property owner.
It is illegal to mow your grass towards the road or into your neighbor's yard.
